Combo bets look simple on the slip: multiply the odds, multiply the stake, collect if every leg wins. Settlement rarely stays that tidy.
Postponed matches, quarter-goal handicaps, refunds, boosts, caps and Cash Out can all change the final figure, sometimes in the bettor's favour and often against it.
Below: one sample slip, ten ways its settlement can shift, worked through with Dexsport's published betting rules, and a short check to run before you confirm a combo.

At 11.97, the slip returns about $119.70. On Dexsport, four legs also qualify for the Combo+ multiplier of 1.08, which lifts the combined odds to about 12.93 and the return to roughly $129.30.
Each leg comes from a separate match, since Dexsport rejects combos that pair outcomes from the same fixture.
1. A Postponed Leg Turns Into Odds of 1.0
Dexsport settles a leg at odds of 1 when its event slips more than 36 to 48 hours. The combo survives on the other legs.
If leg 1 moves to next week, the slip becomes 1.90 × 2.00 × 1.75, or 6.65 before any boost. Our guide to void bet rules compares how books treat these cases.
2. An Abandoned Match Settles at the Moment It Stopped
When play stops and fails to resume within 12 to 48 hours, Dexsport settles each market on the score at the stoppage. Markets the score cannot decide count at odds of 1.
Suppose the Serie A match stops after 60 minutes at 2-1. Over 2.5 goals already counts as a winner, so leg 2 stands at 1.90. Match-result legs on the same game would settle at 1.0 instead.
3. A Late Leg Drops Off the Slip
Bets placed after an event has started, outside live betting, count as invalid. Dexsport either refunds them or removes the leg from the combo.
Pre-match prices clicked one minute after kick-off can therefore vanish from a four-leg slip, which leaves three legs and lower odds.
4. Quarter Handicaps Settle in Halves
Leg 4 uses a -0.25 line, which splits the stake across 0 and -0.5. If the Bundesliga match ends level, half the stake is refunded and half loses.
Inside a combo, that leg then counts at 0.5. The other three legs at 6.84 combined fall to 3.42, so the $10 slip returns $34.20 if they all win. One-goal wins on a -0.75 line work the other way, with half won and half refunded.
Our look at Asian handicap markets explains the split lines in detail.
5. Half Results Shrink the Boost
Split results reprice the boost: any leg that ends half won, half lost or as a refund triggers a fresh Combo+ calculation. Slips shown with a 1.08 boost may settle with a smaller multiplier, or a multiplier of 1, once a leg changes status.
6. More Than Two Refunds Reset the Boost to 1
Three refunded legs mark the cut-off. At that point the Combo+ figure resets to 1. Ten-leg slips with three postponements lose the 1.5 boost entirely, even if the other seven legs win.
7. Cash Out Closes Every Leg at Once
Cash Out on Dexsport covers the whole combo, never a single leg, and the offer can land above or below the original stake. The move also cancels Combo+, and the platform never guarantees an offer.
Cash Out settlements also fall outside the deposit play-through count, which matters before a first withdrawal. Our explainer on crypto cash-out covers how offers get priced.
8. The Win Cap Trims a Large Return
Combo payouts share the single-bet ceiling. At Dexsport that means $5,000 for bigger events and $500 for smaller ones.
Take $20 on six legs at 2.20 each. Combined odds of about 113.4, lifted by the 1.15 six-leg boost, suggest a return near $2,608. Under a $500 cap, the payout stops at $500, so check which events make up the slip.
9. Odds Lock at Placement, With One Exception
Bets stand at the odds and lines shown when the slip registers on the server. Later price moves leave the bet unchanged, and a bettor cannot edit or cancel a combo once placed.
The exception covers obvious errors. Misprinted odds, staff mistakes or technical failures allow Dexsport to void a bet, even one already settled as a win.
10. Freebet Combos Pay Profit Only
Freebets return winnings minus the stake. Put a $100 freebet on a combo at 3.0 and it pays $200, while the same cash stake would return $300.
Cash Out does not apply to freebets, and a freebet combo that settles as a refund simply disappears. Dexsport's sports welcome freebets also require a combo of three events at minimum odds of 1.3 each.
A Short Check Before You Confirm
-
Kick-off times: make sure every pre-match leg starts after you place the slip
-
Line type: quarter handicaps and totals can settle in halves
-
Leg count: boosts depend on four, six, eight or ten live legs
-
Event tier: win caps differ between higher-tier and lower-tier events
-
Exit plans: Cash Out removes any boost and settles the whole slip
Conclusion
Combo bets settle on rules as much as results. Postponed and abandoned legs fall to odds of 1, late legs drop off, quarter handicaps split stakes in half, and refunds or Cash Out can shrink or erase a Combo+ boost.
Win caps and obvious-error clauses add further limits, while freebet combos return profit only. Dexsport publishes each of these rules, which makes the slip easier to read in advance.
