Trueo Moves Its Prediction Market From Base to Ethereum Mainnet

Trueo will move its primary prediction-market deployment from Base to Ethereum mainnet, retaining existing Base markets through expiry.

Trueo Moves Its Prediction Market From Base to Ethereum Mainnet

Trueo said on September 21 that it will move its primary prediction-market deployment from Base to Ethereum mainnet. It cited Ethereum’s stronger network effects, deeper liquidity opportunities, integration potential and better long-term position for the protocol.

The move changes Trueo’s primary venue but does not immediately shut down its Base operation; existing markets will continue through their expiries.

At the time of the announcement, Trueo ranked 14th among onchain prediction markets and held about $795,687 in total value locked, according to DefiLlama data cited by Cointelegraph.

Trueo shifts its primary prediction market to Ethereum

In its official announcement, Trueo framed Ethereum mainnet as the destination for its primary deployment. The stated case centers on the ecosystem around Ethereum: network effects, liquidity, possible integrations and the protocol’s longer-term positioning.

For an onchain prediction market, the choice of deployment network affects where users and capital meet the application. Trueo’s announcement does not present the move as a claim that Base markets will stop functioning at once. Instead, the project has outlined a staged transition in which its existing market activity is allowed to run its course while future development shifts toward Ethereum.

The announcement also marks a change in emphasis from the conditions Trueo cited when it chose Base for its initial launch. When it launched there in March 2025, the project pointed to higher Ethereum mainnet gas costs and said portions of its application were still experimental.

Base markets remain open through expiry

Base users will not face an immediate shutdown under the plan. Existing markets will continue to operate until their respective expiries, according to The Block.

Trueo has asked users not to create new Base markets with expiries after January 31, 2027. That cutoff is the key operational boundary in the migration plan: markets already created can remain active through settlement, while longer-dated activity is being directed away from the outgoing primary deployment.

The arrangement leaves Base as a live venue for outstanding contracts for a period rather than treating the chain as abruptly obsolete. It also gives market participants a defined date to consider when creating any remaining Base markets, even as the protocol prepares its Ethereum mainnet deployment to become its main focus.

From Base’s launch rationale to Ethereum’s liquidity push

Trueo launched on Base in March 2025 at a time when its stated considerations differed from those in the latest announcement. Ethereum mainnet gas costs were higher, and the application was still partly experimental, Cointelegraph reported.

Rather than indicating that the Base launch was a temporary technical test from the outset, the September decision marks a reversal of the earlier deployment logic: Trueo’s rationale is now centered on Ethereum’s prospective liquidity and broader network connections, not primarily on lower transaction costs or an environment suited to an application still under development.

Trueo did not announce a separate timetable in the supplied materials for when all new market activity will be available on Ethereum. What is clear is the division of responsibilities during the transition: Base markets already in existence remain in place through expiry, while the protocol’s primary deployment and forthcoming initiatives are being moved toward mainnet.

Token migration and oracle development move to the new deployment

TRUE holders will be able to migrate their tokens to Ethereum without a deadline, according to crypto.news. Trueo also plans staking and liquidity incentives on Ethereum; those incentives are planned rather than live.

Existing Base markets remain open until they expire. Users are asked not to create new Base markets expiring after January 31, 2027.

Trueo plans to prioritize attracting liquidity after the move and to launch the next generation of its oracle system for resolving real-world outcomes in prediction markets.

The migration therefore covers more than the token’s chain: it moves the primary deployment toward Ethereum while setting out liquidity and oracle-development priorities.
