Ripple Prime Launches 24/7 Perpetual Swaps on More Than 100 Traditional Markets

Ripple announced on Oct. 15 that Ripple Prime has launched institutional real-world-asset perpetual swaps linked to more than 100 reference markets, expanding its platform to offer 24/7 trading and settlement across equities, indices, exchange-traded funds, metals, energy and foreign exchange.

The offering gives institutional clients continuous synthetic exposure to traditional-market references outside standard market hours. It does not provide direct ownership of the stocks, commodities or other assets being referenced.

Ripple Prime opens 24/7 access

According to Ripple’s announcement, the new swaps cover more than 100 market references across several major traditional-asset categories. Ripple said the service combines 24/7 trading with settlement through Ripple Prime. PrimeXBT reported on Oct. 16 that the product uses Trade.xyz pricing on Hyperliquid and offers 24/7 exposure to more than 100 traditional markets.

Trade.xyz perps on Hyperliquid

Ripple Prime is acting as principal in the transactions, while the reference perpetual futures are listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid, Ripple said. That structure is central to the product: clients trade swaps whose value tracks referenced markets rather than buying or holding the underlying securities, funds, commodities or currencies.

Perpetual swaps do not have a fixed expiry date, unlike conventional futures. In this case, the instruments are designed to provide exposure to the referenced traditional markets through the Trade.xyz perpetual-futures listings.

Cross-margining and RLUSD collateral

Ripple said institutional clients, including Virtu, can cross-margin real-world-asset swap exposures with other supported asset classes and use Ripple USD, or RLUSD, as collateral, subject to jurisdictional availability.
