Coinbase Completes Deribit Integration and Plans Coinbase Pro Return

Coinbase completed its Deribit integration and unified derivatives trading on one matching engine, with Coinbase Pro set to return by end-2026.

Coinbase Completes Deribit Integration and Plans Coinbase Pro Return

Coinbase said on Oct. 7 that it had completed its Deribit integration, creating the Coinbase Global Exchange and setting up a combined derivatives venue built on a single matching engine. The company said Coinbase Financial Markets will soon connect eligible U.S. clients to global crypto-derivatives liquidity through what it described as a single regulated pool.

Deribit matching engine becomes the combined derivatives backbone

The infrastructure transition itself was completed on Oct. 1, according to the Coinbase Help Center. It consolidated the derivatives infrastructure of Deribit and Coinbase International Exchange onto Deribit’s matching engine.

Coinbase’s Oct. 7 announcement publicly framed the completed work as the Coinbase Global Exchange. The change brings the two operations onto one trading backbone rather than maintaining separate derivatives infrastructure.

The company has not said the new access is immediately available to all U.S. customers. Instead, its announcement specifies eligible U.S. clients, while the Help Center materials describe availability by user eligibility and product.

Eligible U.S. clients face a phased route to global derivatives liquidity

The combined platform is expected to offer eligible users access to options, perpetuals, dated futures and spot markets, according to Coinbase’s transition guidance. Coinbase Financial Markets is the route the company identified for connecting qualifying U.S. clients to the global crypto-derivatives liquidity pool.

For U.S. Prime clients, crypto-options access is expected during the fourth quarter of 2026. That timetable is a planned rollout, rather than confirmation of broad, immediate U.S. options access.

Coinbase Pro is slated to return with spot, derivatives and equities

Coinbase also said Coinbase Pro will return at the end of 2026 as a professional-grade platform spanning spot trading, futures, perpetuals, options and equities. The proposed product scope places the revived service alongside the derivatives infrastructure Coinbase has now consolidated.

The company outlined the plan in its Oct. 7 blog post, which did not provide a more specific launch date than the end of 2026.
