io.net and Nexus Network Join Forces to Enhance Compute Power and Accessibility

This collaboration focuses on enhancing compute services on the Nexus Network through io.net’s decentralized GPU network, as they aim to create the world’s first decentralized supercomputer. 

This week, the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) io.net announced its latest partnership with Nexus Network, a project dedicated to making supercomputer resources universally available. This strategic alliance will enable Nexus to utilize io.net’s GPU clusters to bolster its compute power as it develops its ‘Verifiable Internet’. 

Furthermore, the collaboration will enhance the Nexus zero-knowledge Virtual Machine (zkVM) by incorporating io.net’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform, advancing Nexus’s goal of democratizing access to zero-knowledge proof services.

Nexus Network consists of a community of developers working on the Verifiable Internet, where trustless computation and verification are central to digital exchanges. The project aims to construct a global, distributed supercomputer accessible to all. It employs zkVM technology, which allows developers to create scalable and secure applications, transforming user interactions with blockchain ecosystems.

io.net, or the Internet of GPUs, is a DePIN that deploys and manages on-demand, decentralized GPU clusters sourced globally. This protocol comprises millions of GPUs linked to the IO Network, offering users the computational power needed for various high-compute tasks such as AI, machine learning, and cloud gaming. io.net democratizes access to GPU computing power by reducing costs, speeding up lead times, and broadening options for engineers and businesses. 

Enhancing Compute Power on the Nexus Network

As outlined, this partnership will utilize io.net’s robust decentralized GPU infrastructure to increase the compute power available for proof generation within the Nexus zkVM. With geo-distributed GPUs, Nexus will gain from an expanded network of validators, bridges, relayers, and oracles within web3 environments.

The additional compute power provided by io.net will allow Nexus Network to improve zk-proof technologies, making these services available to everyone. From developers worldwide to enterprises and businesses, users on Nexus will benefit from faster and more efficient zero-knowledge-proof generation. This progress is expected to encourage the development of scalable, privacy-focused, and low-latency decentralized applications (DApps) on the blockchain.

The alliance is also anticipated to expand the decentralized network of GPUs on the IO Network as new users are drawn from Nexus. Moreover, io.net’s geo-distributed GPU clusters will provide a decentralized, high-performance computing layer, enhancing the overall resilience and scalability of the Nexus network.
