Samsung Wallet will support USDC cross-border transfers on Solana for 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices beginning in the last week of October 2026, the Solana Foundation said on October 7. A day later, Coinbase said it would power USDC as Samsung Wallet’s default dollar stablecoin in the United States, with balances held through Coinbase Prime Vault.
The announcements describe a wider Samsung Wallet USDC expansion, but assign different roles to Coinbase, Solana and Sui. The primary statements do not establish whether the services will operate through a single unified settlement and custody arrangement.
Roles in the USDC rollout
Coinbase said the U.S. rollout would begin in the last week of October and named Coinbase Prime Vault as the custody venue for USDC balances. Its announcement identifies USDC as the default dollar stablecoin in Samsung Wallet.
Separately, the Sui Foundation said Samsung Wallet would integrate USDC on Sui across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. Sui said supported gasless USDC transfers would carry zero network fees.
Solana’s October 7 confirmation likewise cited 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices, but focused on the availability of USDC cross-border transfers on its network. The three announcements therefore overlap on the U.S. device footprint and late-October timing while describing distinct custody, network and fee elements.
Solana transfer timing
According to the Solana Foundation, the Solana transfer feature is scheduled to start in the last week of October 2026. The statement specifically describes cross-border USDC transfers for U.S. Galaxy users; it does not provide a more precise launch date.

Transfer routes and reach
Eligible U.S. Galaxy users will be able to send USDC from Samsung Wallet to compatible external wallets and qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries, according to reporting by The Block. The report qualifies the bank-account route as limited to qualifying accounts.
The stated transfer reach is separate from Sui’s claim on network fees. Sui’s zero-fee statement applies to supported gasless transfers and should not be read as a broader claim that every Samsung Wallet transfer route, including cross-border or bank-account transfers, will have no fees.
